Chris Hadfield discusses his new book, “The Defector”

Global News published this video item, entitled “Chris Hadfield discusses his new book, “The Defector”” – below is their description.

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield’s new book, “The Defector” takes place in 1973 as a state-of-the-art Soviet jet fighter disappears leading to a high-stakes game of spies, lies, and affection.

“I found that when I’m writing books, especially fiction, (ideas) are always just ticking away in the back of my head no matter where I am,” he says.

“The main characters of these books are always in my head, almost like consultants around me,” he adds.

Hadfield tells The Morning Show’s Jeff McArthur and Caroline McKenzie that he often uses his mobile device to jot down ideas as they come to him.

The Defector is Hadfield’s fifth book and his second fiction-thriller.
