A Chinese swimmer who lost his arms as a child has won four gold medals, all with record-breaking times, at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Zheng Tao was champion in the men’s 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle and the mixed 4x50m freestyle relay. The pandemic-delayed Games held August 24-September 5, 2021, were the third Paralympics for the 30-year-old. His impressive performance in Tokyo has earned him the title “armless flying fish” among Chinese netizens.
