The National Ballet of China was founded in 1959. From a solidly Russian foundation, it has enriched its repertoire over the years with works of different schools and styles. It has staged notable performances of both international classics such as “Swan Lake” and “Don Quixote,” and original Chinese creations such as “The Red Detachment of Women” and “The Peony Pavilion.”

CGTN’s ICON visits the National Ballet of China and sees how ballet dancers are selected and trained.
