The State of California and several universities are suing the Trump administration over its policy threatening the visas of many foreign students. The lawsuits are over a ruling that international students will only qualify for a visa if they’re taking in-person classes. Otherwise, they will have to leave the country. California has become the first state to challenge what it describes as the federal government’s “unlawful policy.” U.S. universities including Harvard, MIT, and Johns Hopkins are also filing lawsuits against the administration’s move.
