British Mother describes plight of son stuck in Australian airport due to coronavirus

The mother of a British skydiving instructor says she is worried that her son may not be able to return home.

Sharon Broughton describes the plight of her son and many others stranded travellers as ‘scared’ and ‘desperate’ as they try to find ways to travel back to the UK.

Her son, Ben Gingold, decided to travel home after losing his job and accommodation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Associated Press, he purchased the last seat available, a business class ticket to the UK.

Australia’s government introduced measures to slow the spread of the virus outbreak which restricts its citizens from travelling overseas.
