CGTN interviewed Professor Kerry Brown, director of the Lau China Institute at King’s College in London, talking about the subject of reparations and damages from China which is being raised by some, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He does not quite go as far as the headline suggests, though, and his suggestion is that we should avoid politicizing the crisis at all, but he acknowledges the difficulty this creates, when there are politicians responsible for the national handling of disaster response who are heading into an election period.
As coronavirus continues to spread, some western politicians are increasing efforts to attack China for the outbreak. Professor Kerry Brown, director of the Lau China Institute at King’s College in London, shared his views on the reasons behind this phenomenon. He believes blaming China has intensified due to America’s election year politics and calls for western politicians to stop using misleading language.
