China’s “instrumental” role in the BRICS community has helped form it into an inclusive platform that promotes the sharing of development results and experiences, said Mally Likukela, an economist at the Bank of Namibia.

The comments came ahead of the 15th BRICS Summit that will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa from August 22 to 24.

Likukela has witnessed rapidly growing cooperative efforts between China and African countries. He noted that the Chinese approach to relations has been marked by an eagerness to learn about the various cultures on the continent.
