The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and his fiancee Carrie Symonds have welcomed a new baby boy, as reported in this news item by the UK’s Telegraph.
Boris Johnson’s fiancee Carrie Symonds has given birth to a baby boy, the couple have announced.
The baby was delivered in hospital earlier this morning and both mother and baby are doing very well, their spokesman said.
A spokesman for Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds said: “The Prime Minister and Ms Symonds are thrilled to announce the birth of a healthy baby boy at a London hospital earlier this morning. Both mother and baby are doing very well.
“The PM and Ms Symonds would like to thank the fantastic NHS maternity team.”
Mr Johnson had previously suggested he intended to take paternity leave when the baby was born, but it is now confirmed he will not.

Johnson has crammed a lot into the past six months: winning a General Election, Brexit on 31 January 2020, going into intensive care for Covid-19 before recovering, and now becoming a father again.
There is some speculation about the number of children Boris Johnson has. This may be his seventh child, based on some reports. In an interview with LBC in 2019, he had the opportunity to clarify, but refused it.
