Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday (January 18) was made an “Honorary Citizen of Kyiv” by the city’s Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko at the Ukrainian House in Davos, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Johnson was presented with the award by Klitschko in recognition of his vocal support for Ukraine following the invasion by Russian forces in February 2022, as well as Britain’s supply of arms to Kyiv, most notably M270 multiple rocket launchers and thousands of NLAW anti-tank weapons, drones and loitering munitions.
On Tuesday (January 17), Britain pledged to send 14 Challenger 2 tanks and other heavy weaponry to Ukraine.
In July 2022, the former PM presented Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy with the Sir Winston Churchill Leadership Award.
