Beluga whale dies at MarineLand, becomes 15th whale to die in past 4 years

Global News published this video item, entitled “Beluga whale dies at MarineLand, becomes 15th whale to die in past 4 years” – below is their description.

Another Beluga whale has died at Marineland this week, bringing the total number of whales that have died at the Niagara Falls, Ont. attraction to 15 over the past four years.

It also comes after a Beluga died earlier this week at an aquarium in Connecticut after being transferred from Marineland in 2021. That aquarium is citing pre-existing conditions the mammal had coming from Marineland.

This week’s events are intensifying calls for the province of Ontario to do more to implement animal welfare at the tourist attraction.
