The Baihetan Hydropower Station is the world’s largest hydropower station under construction. It has generated over 10 billion kWh cumulatively as of May 5, 2022. The Baihetan Hydropower Station is located on the Jinsha River and straddles the provinces of Yunnan and Sichuan. After completion, it will be equipped with 16 hydro-generating units, each with a capacity of 1 million kilowatts, the largest single-unit capacity in the world. The last two generating units of the hydropower station have entered the run-up stage to the full-scale entry into operation.
