Catching public transport should be an easy task for anyone, but large swathes of the country’s train, tram and ferry networks are completely inaccessible to Australians living with a disability. Legislation passed 20 years ago called for all stops to be fully compliant with accessibility standards by the end of last year, but as Alison Xiao reports, we’re still far from meeting that target.
