More than 800 potential wildlife nests are being created in forests ravaged by bushfires and land clearing. It’s all thanks to a world-first program aiming to make artificial nesting hollows, which could take over a century to form naturally. It’s estimated 15 percent of Australian animal species use tree hollows for nesting and shelter.
