ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Are more rate rises coming for the ‘goldilocks’ US economy? | The Business | ABC News” – below is their description.
It’s been called the “goldilocks economy”, where key economic data is not too hot, nor too cold. The United States is enjoying low unemployment, strong consumer spending and above trend growth. But it comes with a warning from the US Federal Reserve, saying a hot economy may need to be cooled with further rate rises. Paul Gruenwald, global chief economist for S&P Ratings based in New York, told The Business’ Kirsten Aiken he thinks there’s a high probability America will avoid a recession but the US Federal Reserve doesn’t want to get behind the inflation curve again.
