Anthony Albanese will become Australia’s 31st prime minister following last night’s historic election result.
In an emotional speech the PM elect promised to leave no one behind and look after the disadvantaged, saying he’s proud to serve the people of Australia.
Mr Albanese is expected to form a majority government with a number of seats in Western Australia turning red.
Counting the votes continues with a number of seats still too close to call.
