Alaska Earthquake: Powerful 7.8-Magnitude Quake Triggers Tsunami Warning

A tsunami warning was issued for parts of southwestern Alaska after an M7.8 earthquake struck south of the Alaska Peninsula late on Tuesday, July 21.

Tsunami warning sirens sounded in locations across the Alaska Peninsula, as seen in this video, shot near the town of Homer.

The National Tsunami Warning Center later cancelled the tsunami warning.
