Air Canada pilots staged a silent picket at Toronto’s Pearson Airport on Friday to call for better wages and working conditions.
The Air Line Pilots Association, representing more than 5,000 Air Canada aviators, started negotiations for the bargaining unit in June, a day after fellow union members at WestJet ratified a new collective agreement.
The informational picket at Terminal 1 comes the same day the nine-year deal expires but both the union and airline have said it will not affect Air Canada’s flight schedule.
The pilots association said no strike is imminent.
