Global News published this video item, entitled “Afghanistan crisis: Afghans fear civil war will erupt if allies don’t intervene” – below is their description.
Just four days remain until the U.S. is set to withdraw from Afghanistan and while flights continue to depart the country, there continues to be a constant threat of attack, but even after an attack near the airport left more than a dozen American soldiers and dozens of Afghans at the hands of ISIS-K, but getting as many people out as possible before Aug. 31 remains the fundamental goal.
But there are people on the ground, staying in the country, who are concerned they could soon be caught in the crossfire of a new potential civil war between ISIS-K and the ruling Taliban. U.S. President Joe Biden has promised retribution for the attack, but what happens in the country without an American presence remains a grave question.
As Jackson Proskow reports, many are calling for help from Americans, Canadians and other allies to prevent another threat to their lives.
