As the Hangzhou Asian Games wrap up, it is time to say goodbye. For the athletes, many of the events will be etched in their memory forever. That’s true for boxer Walter Sarnoi Oupathana, representing Laos, who shares his impressions. This visit marked his return to China for the first time since 2010, and he says that the country has changed in an amazing way. The Asian Games have played a substantial role in his growth, he reckons, and he looks forward to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Will he be Laos’ first Olympic medalist? Time will tell.
