The Wine Group is to buy the 100,000-ton yield Loxton winery on the banks of the river Murray in the Riverland region of South Australia.
The Wine Group company operates brands such as Fish Eye, Foxhorn, and Little Roo. The company was formed when the wine assets of Coca-Cola were bought out in 1981. Ross Mayfield will head the Loxton plant as interim Director of Australian Operations, reporting to Steve Roden, Vice President of Operations.
Australia’s fourth largest winery, the Loxton plot is currently owned by Australian Vintage Limited – formerly McGuigan Simeon Wines – headed by Executive Director, Brian J McGuigan and his brother Neil McGuigan who acts as CEO.
