Saks Fifth Avenue will open a store in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in August 2012, it has been announced. 91,000 square feet will be devoted to the well known USdepartment store brand alongisde other luxury outlets at the Esentai Shopping Mall. The high-end shop will also fit a three-storey high digital video screen on the outside of the building.
There are just 46 Saks Fith Avenue Stores in the worlds and the latest move to Central Asia is designed to tap into the rapidly expanding affluent population in the capital city of Almaty. VILED Fashion LLP, which is part of The VILED Group, already operates 15 luxury brand stores in the city of Almaty and will license the Saks Fifth Avenue store for Kazakhstan.
