Netflix’s Resident Evil: How Albert Wesker’s Convoluted History Fits In

IGN published this video item, entitled “Netflix’s Resident Evil: How Albert Wesker’s Convoluted History Fits In” – below is their description.

The Resident Evil franchise is being adapted into live-action once again. But whereas the previous theatrical films were very loose adaptations of the source material, Netflix’s new series seeks to build on the established Resident Evil game continuity. And this time, the series’ most fascinating yet convoluted villain – Albert Wesker – is the star of the show.

Wesker certainly has a complicated back-story, given his long track record of faking his death and returning to plague heroes like Chris Redfield over and over again. S how exactly does all that history feed into the Netflix series? How is Wesker even still alive following the events of 2009’s Resident Evil 5? Let’s explore what we know so far.

Netflix’s Resident Evil stars Lance Reddick as Wesker, and the cast also includes Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Paola Núñez. The first season debuts on July 14, 2022.
