Dave Lapham In The Trenches published this video item, entitled “Bengals News | Zac Taylor Reacts To Bengals 32-27 Loss To Texans” – below is their description.
The Cincinnati Bengals’ first drive against the Houston Texans in Paycor Stadium on Sunday afternoon looked like the previous few weeks. However, after the opening drive that ended with a Joe Burrow 32-yard touchdown pass to Trenton Irwin, the Bengals offense struggled, not putting up more points until their eighth drive of the game when Evan McPherson hit a 50-yard field goal late in the third quarter to cut the Texans lead to 20-10.
In the ninth drive of the game, the Bengals had more life as Burrow hit a sore Ja’Marr Chase for a 64-yard touchdown strike, giving fans hope the Bengals would win their sixth game of the season before heading to Baltimore for a Thursday night match-up with the Ravens.
But CJ Stroud was hot and took the Texans down the field on their next possession, ending in him running it in for the score and a 27-17 advantage with 12:47 left in the game.
The rest of the game got everyone’s heart rate up as Burrow threw two interceptions, with Cam Taylor-Britt looking to save the day with another key interception, putting the Bengals back in scoring position and leading to a Joe Mixon touchdown run, his third consecutive game with a score rushing and the Bengals down by three.
After forcing the Texans to punt, Burrow would hit Tyler Boyd for a 65-yard strike. putting the Bengals in a position to take the lead and win the game. However, Burrow’s pass to the usually sure-handed Boyd on third down was dropped, and the Bengals settled for a game-tying field goal, making it 27-27.
Stroud found the magic that helped the Texans win in the final seconds last week against the Bengals and, with 1:33 left in the game, positioned the Texans in field goal range, where they hit the game-winning score as the clock ran down and the 30-27 win.
After the game, Taylor was short with his comments to the media as he knew this was a game his team could have found a way to win.
