Fed Chair Jerome Powell delivered his annual speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium on Friday morning. Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Global Chair Rich Lesser joins Yahoo Finance Live anchors Brad Smith and Julie Hyman to break down the speech, his thoughts on the state of the economy, and what he expects from the Fed moving forward. While analysts are saying Powell’s speech had a hawkish tone on inflation and interest rates in Lesser said, “I would describe it as more cautious than hawkish.” Lesser added, “I was actually quite pleased at the balance of saying we might need to pause now, or we might need to go further, and we’re going to let the data guide us on doing that. I’m not surprised the markets are reacting positively to that.”
