Cincinnati Bengals Eliminated From AFC Playoffs – Zac Taylor Reaction

Dave Lapham In The Trenches published this video item, entitled “Cincinnati Bengals Eliminated From AFC Playoffs – Zac Taylor Reaction” – below is their description.

The entire 2023 Cincinnati Bengals season was on the line when Zac Taylor led his team onto the field at Arrowhead Stadium. Over the past few years, the Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs have played some important games at Arrowhead, and this one would be no different as the Bengals looked for some more Jake Browning magic to keep their playoff hopes alive another week.

For a short time, things looked like they were headed in the right direction as Browning led the Bengals on their second-longest drive of the season in their opening drive. However, Taylor would have to settle for a field goal and then watch Patrick Mahomes waste no time in driving the Chiefs down the field for a touchdown.

But if the dream was to continue, Browning knew the Bengals needed a response and got one on their second drive of the game, ending with a touchdown pass to Joe Mixon to take a 10-7 lead.

Lou Anarumo dialed up the defense on the Chiefs second drive and watched as Trey Hendrickson would strip Mahomes of the ball as Sam Hubbard recovered, giving the Bengals a chance to add to their early lead. Browning added a rushing touchdown, and the Bengals looked strong with a 17-7 lead.

The Chiefs would follow in what would be the pattern the rest of the game as kicker Harrison Butker added a 54-yard field goal, making it 17-10 Bengals with just under four minutes left in the half.

Browning and the Bengals would not see the end zone the rest of the game as Butker added four more field goals to give the Chiefs the 25-17 win and end the Bengals goal of reaching the playoffs for a third consecutive season.

After the game, Taylor gave his postgame reaction to the loss and his team being eliminated from the AFC Playoffs.
