At least eight people are dead and dozens of others were injured after fans attending the Astroworld music festival in Houston, Texas, on Friday rushed toward the stage.

Rapper Travis Scott, who founded the festival, was performing at the time. By the time he was able to stop the concert, more than 20 people had to be taken to hospital. Among the victims are a 14 year old and 16 year old.

Houston police say they have opened a criminal investigation, with both their homicide and narcotics units involved.

Jennifer Johnson has the reaction from witnesses as investigators work to determine what led to the tragedy.
