Today, Volodymyr Zelensky addressed British Parliamentarians in a surprise visit to the United Kingdom –

In a passionate and eloquent speech, the Ukrainian president paid tribute to Britain’s support for Ukraine, hailed the “strong British character and presented Commons speaker Lindsay Hoyle with a Ukrainian fighter pilot’s helmet inscribed with the words ‘ “We have freedom, gives us wings to protect it”

Today, we bring you a special Ukraine the Latest recorded minutes after his speech finished, ahead of meeting King Charles in Buckingham Palace.

We analyse his address speech, his rhetoric and diplomacy but also the substance of his requests, including an appeal to Ukraine’s allies for jets, he finished his address “I appeal to you and the world with simple and yet most important words: combat aircraft for Ukraine, wings for freedom.
