Sky News published this video item, entitled “Ukraine War: Thousands of homes at risk after dam is blown up” – below is their description.
Ukraine has accused Russia of blowing up a key dam in southern Ukraine.
Ukraine has described the alleged attack on the Kakhovka dam in Russian-occupied Kherson as the “biggest man-made disaster in recent decades” by a Ukrainian official.
Footage of social media shows water gushing into surrounding areas.
The dam holds water equal to that in the Great Salt Lake in the US state of Utah and supplies water to Crimea and to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, which is also under Russian control.
Thousands of homes downstream from the dam are at risk of flooding.
