Thick fog disrupted transportation in parts of northern India on Wednesday, resulting in delays of flights and trains.
Indian Meteorological Department scientist Soma Sen said that the conditions of the fog appeared to be “gradually weakening,” but that the heavy fog — which was brought about by a cold front — is still expected to prevail for the next few days.
Low visibility resulting from the fog has caused widespread air traffic chaos this week, with hundreds of flights out of New Delhi delayed or cancelled.
Over 100 flights from New Delhi’s airport were delayed and 19 cancelled, aviation website Flightradar24 showed.
