The brothers running the Great Wall of China – BBC News

BBC News published this video item, entitled “The brothers running the Great Wall of China – BBC News” – below is their description.

Two young men with a British father and Chinese mother are in the middle of a massive journey that few have ever completed.

They are running the entire length of the Great Wall of China – effectively finishing a marathon every day for six months through deserts, mountains and dangerous crumbling ruins.

Most people would not know how to even plan such an undertaking, but they grew up with a special coach – their father, who made the same journey almost 35 years ago.

In This Story: Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications that were built across the historical northern borders of ancient Chinese states and Imperial China as protection against various nomadic groups from the Eurasian Steppe. Around 4,000 miles long, the wall is an impressive architectural feat, much of it remains intact, though some has fallen into disrepair and is overgrown. The various sections of the wall were built over many centuries.
