After China eased its zero-Covid policy and reopened its borders on January 8, 2023, tourism-dependent businesses in South Korea have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of mainland Chinese tourists. China’s nationwide surge in Covid cases has led South Korea, among other nations, to impose restrictions on travellers coming from China. Beijing retaliated on January 10 by imposing similar restrictions on South Korean travellers.
