Today marks 80 years since the 617 Squadron embarked on their mission to destroy German dams in the Ruhr Valley. Almost half of their planes were shot down and fifty-three men were killed.
The Lancaster Bomber plane, used in the attack, will fly over London and Air Bases in Lincolnshire tonight in memory of those who took part.
