Giant George Santos inflatable on National Mall

Washington Post published this video item, entitled “Giant George Santos inflatable on National Mall” – below is their description.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… George Santos? Protesters put a huge Rep. Santos (R-N.Y.) inflatable on the National Mall on Nov. 28. The group behind the stunt, MoveOn, is demanding Congress expel him after a House ethics report released Nov. 16 found Santos stole from his campaign, lied to donors and sought to profit off of his run for office. The House will likely hold an expulsion vote as soon as this week. Santos has said he expects to be expelled, and that he will not run for re-election.

He’s also facing nearly two dozen federal charges, including allegations of defrauding his donors and using their money for his personal benefit, stealing the identities of family members and using donors’ credit cards to spend thousands of dollars. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Voting is a method for a group, such as a meeting or an electorate, in order to make a collective decision or express an opinion usually following discussions, debates or election campaigns. Democracies elect holders of high office by voting. Residents of a place represented by an elected official are called “constituents”, and those constituents who cast a ballot for their chosen candidate are called “voters”. There are different systems for collecting votes, but while many of the systems used in decision-making can also be used as electoral systems, any which cater for proportional representation can only be used in elections.

In smaller organizations, voting can occur in different ways. Formally via ballot to elect others for example within a workplace, to elect members of political associations or to choose roles for others. Informally voting could occur as a spoken agreement or as a verbal gesture like a raised hand or electronically.
