The Chinese naval hospital ship “Peace Ark” completed its visit to Vanuatu and set sail for the Solomon Islands on August 15. During its seven-day stay in Vanuatu, the hospital ship provided free medical services for local people, sent several medical teams to hospitals, health centers and remote villages, provided free treatments and carried out academic exchanges. The hospital ship treated 6,573 patients and provided various diagnostic tests for 5,597 people. Chinese doctors completed the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy in Vanuatu’s history on the hospital ship.
