For many people, commuting can be a gruelling experience being trapped in traffic gridlock or packed in crowded public transport. But Shanghai resident Ivan Li has found a novel way to beat rush-hour traffic. The medical equipment worker kayaks about 6km (3.7 miles) to his office that takes him on a 40-minute journey. As an outdoor sports enthusiast, Li said he finds kayaking a more pleasant experience.
