‘Banging heard’ from missing Titanic submarine

Daily Mail published this video item, entitled “‘Banging heard’ from missing Titanic submarine” – below is their description.

‘Oxygen reserves will last two days’, expert says of Titanic rescue. French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, 77, who is believed to be on board the submersible that vanished, used to work at Ifremer and piloted its flagship Nautile submarine that was used to examine the wrecks of the Titanic.

“Beyond the fact that Paul-Henri Nargeolet might be aboard, the immediate reaction of all our teams was to say, ‘We’re close, we have to go,” Lefort said.

He said the robot was operated by a 25-strong crew on board the Atalante ship, that could work around the clock by rotating shifts. The robot and crew will be used under the supervision of the U.S. Navy. Lefort said he had no more detail than what was publicly available about whether those on board were still alive, but that everything should be done to save them.
