Hollywood star Goldie Hawn talks to Julie Etchingham on helping children cope with the mental challenges of dealing with the threat of an invisible enemy in Covid-19.
The 74-year-old actress founded the MindUP programme to help children with rising cases of anger, aggression, anxiety and depression through a series of mindfulness-based lessons.
In an exclusive interview ahead of ITV’s Tonight programme, Goldie shares some of the tools she learned dealing with her own mental issues at a young age, gives advice for parents on how to provide a stable base for their children and avoid an inherit ‘negative bias’ in-built in humans.
Plus, she gives her thoughts on America’s struggles in 2020 and the impact of the virus on her industry. How will filmmakers overcome challenges to tell stories in the age of such extremes in normal life?
Watch Julie’s Tonight programme on ITV at 7.30pm on Thursday 16 July or on the ITV Hub. ‘Generation Covid: Our Children in Crisis?’ features children talking about how the virus has affected them directly.
