With the double blows of “virtually no foreign reserves left” and “increasing interest rates for loans,” even the government has its hands tied. “The depth of the economic challenges facing Sri Lanka today reflects the broader challenges faced by many countries in the wake of the pandemic and, lately, the conflict in Ukraine.”
