One of the most dangerous places on earth to be a woman is Central America.

It’s called femicide, the killing of a woman for being a woman.

The phenomenon has led to the mass migration of thousands of women and children north to the border of Mexico and the United States.

Mexico receives a significant number of tourists every year; in 2018, it was the 6th most-visited country in the world, with 39 million international arrivals.
