Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Ivory Coast political violence: Families of victims seek justice” – below is their description.
At least 40 Ivorians have been killed in the run-up to and during last month’s presidential election. Opposition supporters accuse security forces of using excessive force against them – while they look away when government supporters are out on the streets – an allegation the police deny. Security forces in Ivory Coast are cracking down on dissenters following the violence triggered by President Alassane Ouattara running for a third term and being declared the winner of the October 31 election. Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris travelled to the opposition stronghold of Bonoua, Ivory Coast, to meet some of them. –
