Novak Djokovic has cruised into the third round of the Wimbledon tennis tournament after beating Kevin Anderson of South Africa 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. The pair spent under two hours on the blustery court number one.
During the second set, the excitement of the crowd was reduced to the hawk eye calls, but Anderson soon found his pace once more to take Djokovic to some breathtaking net shots. The tall South African swung some big shots out of court during the course of the match but pulled off some extremely smooth drop-shots and a powerful eight aces to Djokovic’s seven.
The final moments of the match were tense as the wind gave the Serb two double faults. However, the number 2 seed lived up to his reputation as “the joker” and threw the ball up into the air to try and judge the wind speed – much to the delight of the nervous crowd. The next few points fell seamlessly into his pocket catapulting the amiable World Number 2 into the third round of the British tournament.
