UK & Irish Horse Racing Tips, Monday 8 June 2015

Thirty five races are scheduled to take place on the afternoon and evening of Monday 8th June 2015 in the UK and Ireland.

An afternoon of flat turf racing takes place at Britain’s Ayr and Thirsk racecourses.

There will be an evening of flat turf racing at Windsor and Pontefract, while a mixed card of flat and jumps racing will take place at Ireland’s Roscommon racecourse.

Best Four Bets

As ever, The Global Herald have had our ratings experts review the day’s racing in advance to arrive at the Best Four Bets for Monday 8th June 2015 – these are the four selections for the day that have the best implied chance when set against today’s opponents.

The selection with the best value, runs in almost the very last race of the day: Railway Zira in the 21:00 at Roscommon. This horse looks to have a great opportunity to make the frame in this beginners chase event, and at a price of 7/1 looks to be a value pick so to do.

An hour earlier, in the 20:00 at Roscommon, we like the look of Rock The World in the Novice Chase event under Robbie Power. This horse is likely to be vying for favouritism with The Game Changer, and there is a Mullins / Walsh chance, Upazo in what is therefore likely to be a hot contest. Our selection has put down the best effort over larger obstacles to date and looks a decent sort; it will take some improvement from the field to beat Rock The World. The expected price is 7/4 for the win.

Over in Yorkshire, we think Unilit in the opening 18:40 event at Pontefract has found a good opportunity to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking, in this maiden event. This Mick Channon trained filly will need to beat the likely favourite, Mark Johnston’s Martini Time, but is a great each-way opportunity at an expected 15/2.

Also in Yorkshire, the best of this afternoon’s runners is Mr Lupton who goes in the 14:15 opening race at Thirsk for Richard Fahey. The ever popular Northern trainer’s charge will attract a lot of support in this maiden event, and early indications point to a very short price on this gelding who found only one too good first time out. This looks to be a good chance to get into the winner’s enclosure, and a price of 11/10 may not put many off. Only susceptible on paper to a good newcomer or beyond average improvement from the rest of the field.
