UK General Election 2010 Results: Conservatives Gain Colne Valley from Labour

The Conservative Party have claimed another Labour seat in Yorkshire in the UK General Election 2010 with their candidate Jason McCartney claiming the vote by 4,837 from the Liberal Democrat candidate Nicola Tunrer who also overtook Labour’s Debbie Abrahams.

Colne Valley UK General Election 2010 Results:

  • Jason McCartney – Conservative – 20,440
  • Nicola Turner – Liberal Democrat – 15,603
  • Debbie Abrahams – Labour – 14,589
  • Barry Fowler – British National Party – 1,893
  • Melanie Roberts – UK Independence Party – 1,163
  • Chas Ball – Green – 867
  • Jackie Grunsell – Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition – 741

Labour’s vote fell by 9% from 2005, while the Conservatives gained 4.1%.
