UK General Election 2010: Liberal Democrats Hold Thornbury & Yate

The Liberal Democrat Party has held its 2005 seat in Thornbury & Yate in the 2010 British General Election with a majority of 7,116.

Thornbury & Yate 2010 General Election Result:

  • Steve Webb – Liberal Democrat – 25,032
  • Matthew Riddle – Conservative – 17,916
  • Roxanne Egan – Labour – 3,385
  • Jenny Knight – UK Independence Party – 1,709
  • Thomas Beacham – Independents Federation UK – 126
  • Anthony Clements – Independent – 58

The Conservative Party gained 6.3% from their 2005 result, while the Liberal Democrat Party vote fell by just over 2%, in line with many wards which have returned thus far.
