Rackspace Fourth Quarter Revenues $283 million

The NYSE listed hosting company Rackspace, have announced fourth quarter revenues of $283 million. Billed to customers as the “Rolls-Royce of hosting”, the company now has 79,805 servers and 172,510 customers.

Net income in the fourth quarter of 2011 was $25 million, up 25.3% from the previous quarter and 85% from the fourth quarter of 2010. Rackspace had capital expenditures of $79 million, including $47 million for purchases of customer gear, $7 million for data center build outs, $10 million for office build outs and $15 million for capitalized software and other projects.

The firm has over 4,000 employees, which it terms “Rackers”.
