Microsoft and News Corp have announced a new app which allows Xbox owners to access Fox News and The Wall Street Journal through their games consoles. The apps for Xbox LIVE will also give users access to programs from Fox Broadcasting such as “Glee,” “House,” “The Simpsons,” and “Family Guy”. The latest gaming news and videos will be made available through IGN Entertainment for the Xbox. All will feature integration with the Kinect and social sharing features for Facebook.
Switching to Xbox as a medium offers News Corp access to an “active community” of 40 million people in 35 countries who use the Xbox as an alternative means to watch television and access the internet.
