Professor Carl James Heneghan (born January 1968) is a British general practitioner physician, director of the University of Oxford’s Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, and a Fellow of Kellogg College.
He is also Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine.
Heneghan is one of the founders of AllTrials, an international initiative with calling to all studies to be published, and their results reported.
In 2013 he was voted on to the Health Service Journal’s top 100 England’s most influential clinical leaders.
During the 2020 Novel Coronavirus outbreak, he rose to prominence for being an outspoken critic of lockdown measures in the UK, but several of his personal opinions featured in several news outlets across the summer of 2020, subsequently turned out to be incorrect, as a vast second wave took place in the autumn, despite Henerghen having said that life should “return to normal” in September 2020.
Professor Carl Heneghan is 56 years old (birth date January 11, 1968).
