People in the besieged Syrian town of Madaya are eating “tree leaves” to survive, an activist has told the BBC. Speaking under gunfire, he said that there was “no food” there. On Thursday, the Syrian authorities reached a deal to allow UN officials to deliver aid to the town’s starving citizens.
