England have improved their batting in the second test against Australia in The Ashes 2009 at Lord’s as the teams stopped for lunch with the hosts on 126 runs without loss.
Opener Alistair Cook had the lions share of the runs, passing his half century and finishing the session on 67.
Andrew Strauss is close to his half century on 47 runs.
The morning was not without half-chances though as Cook, in particular, flirted with disaster edging a couple of shots agonisingly close to the slip cordon.
On a very flat wicket, England will be hoping to bat for around two days and post a larger total than last week in Cardiff.
