RBS 6 Nations 2011: Wales Names Squad to face Scotland

Wales have named their squad to face Scotland in this Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations 2011 meeting at Murrayfield.

Lee Byrne returns to a starting position at full-back, replacing James Hook, who moves to ten. Stephen Jones, the highest points scorer in the Wales squad, is to start Saturday’s match from the bench.

“James has a real opportunity to show what a quality player he is,”

“There  is a certain amount of risk involved as he has not started a game at fly-half this season, but the decision was made easier considering Stephen has been limited in what he can do in the early part of this week after the bump he picked up early on against England.” – Wales head coach Warren Gatland.

Ryan Jones will start at number 8 after Andy Powell damaged his shoulder against England on Friday.

Both Scotland and Wales lost their opening encounters last week, and will be hoping for a better result this weekend. Both sides will feel they have got a good chance of a positive outcome; after producing some reasonable rugby against a strong opposition – Scotland away at France; Wales at home to England – in their last game.

Scotland v Wales kicks off at 17:00 GMT on Saturday 12th February 2011.
